Same thing happened to me. The guy Mike Thomas from some legal department, with a heavy indian accent, claiming he was from Robert Sheppard called, in a threatening and harrassing tone, and said that I owed $1300.00 for two payday loans that I have never applied for nor received. I tried to explain this to him but he kept saying that they were going to have police show up at my job and arrest me for non-payment. He also said that I would have to show up in court in Jacksonville FLA to dispute the charges. What charges do I have to dispute? I did NOT do anything! He wants me to call him in two hours with the money and my issue will be resolved. I am not sending them any money and the next time they call me I will tell them to not call my job anymore and that I am suing them for harrassment and communicating threats about losing my job and having me arrested. I guaranteed they will not call me anymore.
I would for the police department and just let them talk taped it all and going to turn it in to the FBI. He said he was from a lawyer office. So if you get a call from these guys listen get information if possiable record the call then turn it in to your nearest FBI office as a fraud case.
SAME LAW OFFICE. IN DECEMBER, SAME DUDE CALLED AND SAID I WON A CONTEST TOO. NOW HE'S ACCUSING ME OF FRAUD (THREATENING ME EVEN!) THESE JACKASSES ARE A DUO. THE FRONT MAN SEEMS TO BE A "WHITE GUY" AND THE JERK THAT PLACES ALL THE CALLS (" EXT. 204.") HAS THE SAME ACCENT YOU MENTIONED- TOTALLY UNDECIPHERABLE!! DO NOT BE VICTIMIZED!!! GIVE NO INFORMATION. THEY EVEN HAD MY LAST 4 DIGITS OF SSN. BEWARE..
