I receive repeated calls from 757 242 3996.
A recording asks me to press 1 to discuss my "overdue mortgage."
(I have no mortgage.)
I press 1, tell them they are calling a cell phone, and ask to be taken
off their call list.
..... and then I get another call from them.
I am registered on the Do Not Call list and I have been called several times from this number. When I try returning the call it tells me, "At the customers request, the number has been temporarily disconnected". It seems that this is and automated computer calling to market and does not accept incoming calls or disconnects the line when not making outgoing telemarketing calls! It is very frustrating to know that the National Do Not Call List is a joke! It doesn't work! Best bet, don't answer the call and block them from ever calling again.
I reported this nuisance call which I have been receiving on my cell from 757-242-3996 to FTC @ 877-382-4357 the number which was given to me by Citizen's National Bank who I called @ 757-242-4422. They told me at Citizen's that they used to have the 757-242-3996 phone number.
What a world we live in. Back in the days when there was no caller ID and you just might get a busy signal or be on a party line and hear other people talking it didn't seem like there was so much SCUM Of THE EARTH intruding and doing whatever they are doing to disrupt people's lives. Would someone tell me the purpose of these uninvited calls from machines. What do they want anyway? I hang up so don't hear the whole pitch. From now on I will not answer my phone ...but hey, it's MY phone.
