I recieved a text message to call this number which said that my debit card starting with 42248 had not been verified and I was to enter the 16 digits to verify the card. Really??? They did not mention my name and I called from my office so how did they even know who I was................WOW!!!
I also received a text on my cell phone, it was from firstname.lastname@example.org and it said: Call 734 398 3424.Beneficial issue. I called from my office phone, and it said the same thing someone else said about debit card starting w/ numbers 42248 or whatever, and to enter the 16 digit card number to verify. I have no clue what Beneficial is, and my cell # is on the do not call list.
I just received a text from this number that my debit card starting
with 42248 had been compromised and to call them. When I
called the number from a different phone the recording wanted
me to enter my 16 digit debit card number. I don't have a debit
card from Beneficial nor do I bank with Beneficial.
These guys are BS. They text you to get you to call them. When you call, they give everyone the same "Debit card number that starts with" and it is 42248. Right, because card numbers start with 5 numbers haha. ANYWAY, they are just trying to get you to place your ACTUAL card number in to "verify" it is a scam. BEWARE! lol
I just received 2 texts on my corporate cell from email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org saying call (734)-398-3424 Your Beneficial, the other one says Your Beneficial Bank. Call (734)-398-3424. I also received a text on my personal cell from email@example.com. All 3 texts came in within 5 minutes.
I assume it is a phishing call. I got 3 text messages within a 10 minute stretch, all from vtext.com but the 3-4 digit prefix was different. Last one was firstname.lastname@example.org Message was the same in all 3.
Call 1734 398 3424.
Glad I have a plan that does not require me to pay for each text message received.
My phone is on the do not call list. Apparently text messages are not covered under that law.
