This same number has been calling our house 2 times per day. Today I finally spoke with the person vs. allowing machine to answer. I asked very nicely 'How can I get our number taken off this list, I know you aren't my bank and I am getting 2 calls per day'. He said 'Are you listening?' I replied yes. He started to talk about debt and interest rates...I politely interrupted him and said again 'I did not ask to talk about debt or credit card rates, I asked how I can get my # off your company list.' He said 'Are you listening'? Again, I replied yes. He said 'Cross your arms, blink three times and jump up and down'. Then there were MANY cuss words exchanged between myself and him...he used the F bomb and other choice words as well. Most of these places are still nice when you ask them not to call.....this guy was pure scum!
Have been receiving calls under this premise for a couple of years now...We call her "Rachel". Have now found that our telephone carrier has a "Selective Blocking Feature" which allows us to block unwanted calls of this nature after the first call. There are also telephone instruments for the home which have a Blocking Key. Suggest if you are as annoyed as I am with these calls, that you check with your carrier to see what they have to offer.
I just got this call and rejected it as I do not answer calls from numbers I do not know. They left a recorded message about it being my final notice to lower my credit card interest rates and to take advantage of the stimulus package. Sounds like a scam as I do NOT have any credit card debt.
They call to test for valid phone numbers then sell them to telemarketers. The pitch is usually fake or nonexistant. Your voice and even your voice-mail message will give you away. There are services similar to SlyDial that will not report the source phone number to your phone and can check your number by your voice mail without even ringing your phone! Scary, huh? Although SlyDial maybe an honorable company, you can start the forces working against you. Don't answer numbers you don't recognize. If it is a valid call, a message will be left. Don't waste cell phone minutes. Create a voice mail note to contain your message and includes a modem tone (downloadable). The tone will (should?) trick the automated dialers to not save your number as it "believes" that a fax/modem (remember those?) picked up the call. Although I now have fewer calls, don't know if this really works. I can only hope.
All the do-not call list does is make the government money. Think about it. Legitimate companies pay for the list and abide by it. And the true problem callers just laugh at it. And we the public are paying for caller id and it's almost worthless.
According to my research 616-613-2227 using google satelite map and callercenter satelite map house 117 E. CENTRAL AVE.is connected to house 122 E. CENTRAL AVE. ZEELAND, MICHIGAN 49464 which is probally the source where the call is originating. The U.S. government does charge a certain fine to telemarketers, but a small amount to what telemarketers make on a monthly basis, so they are paying a small monthly bill to stay in there busines. The only way to stop them is to have Congress pass a FEDERAL FELONY LAW fo those who VIOLATE THE DO NOT CALL LIST.
Says it's the last chance to lower my credit card rate. I used to hang up, but the last two times, I've pressed 1 to talk to a live person and when I say not to call anymore, the hang up. These calls are frequent and I'm on the do not call list. I'm going to file a complaint.
An extremely rude gentleman called my mother today to sell her something that she did not want. He told her that he could see her credit and that she had money and also kept asking her if she was black, in which she responded that was irrelevant. He then told her that she was a "ghetto black *****." Completely unacceptable behavior! Something really needs to be done about this breakdown of communication and abuse of the elderly.
they keep calling me from an automated machine and when i hit 1 to talk to someone to remove me from their call list they hang up on me. I am on the Federal DO NOT CALL LIST and I don't have any credit cards to lower any Lower Interest Rate on. They say: This is your 2nd & final notice to lower your credit card to Lower my Interest Rate if so who do these SCUM keep calling back. AND Anonymous I have all ready made a complaint to: the FCC at: http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
I got about 4 calls a week over the span of about 3 months last year. In all cases it starts with the automated message about lowering interest rates. In all cases, I acted like I was interested so that I could get as much info on the companyt as possible. Very hard to do. They wont give you company name, address, EIN number or tax ID, manager names, website address, nothing. In all cases the rep would end up cursing me out, and hanging up. I got a call from them again today and hit 1 so that I could have some more fun with them. I actually got a guy who'd only been working there for a week. After careful and respectful prodding, I got the address for the call center.. He said the name of the company is Invisidebt Solutions. He didnt know the website address. I pressed 1 and instructed the woman to remove my number and she hung up on me. I called them back and there is an option to remove your number from their list which I did even though it shouldn't be on their list since I am registered with the do-no-call registry. There was also an option to leave a voicemail which I did informing them to remove my number immediately. If they call me a second time I would sue them since this is a legal option where you can be awarded up to $1500. I might as well try this in small claims court. Time consuming but heck maybe an easy way to earn some cash!
Get these calls EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Same recorded message, from different numbers. Usually they hang up on me when I tell them I am 1) on Federal no-call list, 2) on state no-call list, and 3) want my name REMOVED from their list. Today a 'Jason' told me he would work on it and get me a confirmation code. I told him it didn't matter, I was reporting them for violating the no-call list - SICK OF THESE CALLS!
Complaint made to Zeeland, MI, BBB: Receipt of repeated, annoying, unsolicited phone calls about resolving credit card debt when we have none. Recent calls received from # 616-613-2079, -2227 and -2228. These #s obtained by a personal phone call-back tracing feature and identify Zeeland, MI, as the location. #s are shown only as a cell or unlisted number. The calls received 1:20pm EDT 7-2-13; 3:15pm EDT 8-1-13, and 2:54pm EDT 8-8-13, respectively. Recorded message gives press-key-option for assistance. When pressed, a human answers. I request to be removed from the calling list but no acknowledgement. Human hangs up upon inquisitive questions about location and identity of business. I have registered on the Nat. Do Not Call list. I hereby file this complaint on repeated, annoying, unsolicited phone calls invading my privacy and urge BBB to locate the 'business' and STOP the poor business practices.
They called at 2:00 PM. I pressed "1" and waited. A messge told me I was called number 12 waiting to speak with a representitive. I put the speaker phone on and waited. The message told me I was next in line at 2:30 PM. Then it changed and said I was # 5. AT 2:42 PM the message said I was first in line again. A minute later it told me that I was caller # 4. I have gotten the same response as most of the posts here. I thought I might try something on them. They have to pay for these lines some where so if they are kept tied up no one else can use them. After an hour I finally hung up.
