A guy with an indian accent just called me from this number saying that he received a call from Microsoft about a complaint from my house number saying that my PC was too slow... Not sure was he would want to have tried on me or my PC's, but having a degree in computer science and almost 10 years of experience in IT, nice try pal!
Indian-sounding guy said my computer's operating system would soon be ruined because of error messages sent to Microsoft which were ignored. He claimed to be with some comp tech co. I could hardly understand him and he wanted me to go to my computer now to fix things up... (him telling me how???) I did not do this; this doesn't make much sense, & why would he want to fix me up for free?
same thing, something supposedly wrong with my computer, arabic accent, originally spoke to my daughter who was following everything he told her to do, then he called again next day, told me to throw my computer out the window, when I told him I didn;t have one, then he said 'then you foolish', scammer
I received a phone call from an individual claiming to be from Microsoft and that my personal computer was sending messages to Microsoft. The individual told me my license was going to be cancelled if I did take action. I challenged them to give me a reference number of the license number to identify which of my computers was the issue. They did not provide this number to me. They asked me to turn my computer on and when I challenged them that I thought this sounded like a scam they hung up on me.
Same as the others have reported, a man with a very thick arabic accent who's name is supposedly "david". He called my business line. He told me he was with Microsoft. I asked him why he was calling from a payphone, and he said "I'm not." and then continued on his spiel about receiving error messages from my computer. I asked him what type of messages, and he said "malicious messages" and then started giving me directions on how to fix it. I listed to him and pretended I was following along but gave him a hard time saying things like "I don't see that on my computer". He started getting annoyed and I told him "Maybe it's because I'm on a MAC. ...How are you getting messages at Microsoft if I'm using a mac??" and he told me I was being stupid and that I needed to listen to him. I asked him why he couldn't get a better job wtihout scamming people and he hung up on me.
