The caller showed up on caller ID as John Kendall, but identified himself as "james", and that he was calling from the technical department of ??? about my computer. He hung up on me when I told him I knew this was a scam and to take my name off their list.
Called me just out of the blue. Caller had heavy accent from Pakistan or middle east, maybe India. Insisted I turn my computer on so they could fix it. Said I had downloaded a virus and my computer was crashing (it is working fine, I am a programmer with 40+ years of experience, work on computes myself). Caller VERY insistent that I turn on my computer and that it was crashing. Turned me over to supervisor. I told them my computer WAS on and had been for weeks. And that I had no plans to let them work on it. Then I hung up. Someone needs to stop these people, shut them down!
I just got a call from this number and he stated his name is Andrea and got some reports from my computer saying it is going to crash. Insisted me to go to Computer, I told him I will deal with it and don't need any help and hung up on him. I knew it is a scam. Shame on these people trying to make money on some innocent people.
Supervisor 'Peter' a heavily accented scammer from "Windows" trying to get me to go the site www.help1010.com so that they could fix a virus on my computer. I like these guys. They are so earnest when they think they've got one. I usually play with them for 8 minutes then I tell them that I do not believe their mother and father would be proud of the work they do, and that I hope they had as much fun wasting 8 minutes as I had. I then tell them "may God bless you" and then politely hang up. I'm retired so I have the time...
this is the second time these people have called, claiming that I had computer issues. They called themselves to be representatives of windows. This time i replied that I never even owned a computer and guess what she said?"f**k off" and hung up.
This call came at 8:21 am, a woman was on the line telling me she was calling from a Microsoft service center and my computer had called the center. That there were bad things going on inside my computer that multiplied every time I turned it on & off. This has to be the 50th time I have gotten these stupid phishing calls. They are from different numbers, they are usually with "out of area" on the id screen. Today it said John Kendall, with this number attached.
Some of the times they call I get them all revved up and ask them questions as if I believe them, before I tell them I don't have a computer. Other times I tell them they are scammers. They still keep calling. Grrrrrrrr.
Said they were calling on behalf of the Microsoft support department. I told them that I have never had a call before from Microsoft. He then tried to tell me that Microsoft reports that I have too much malware on my computer and it is causing trouble for the Microsoft update Website. At that point I told him that I am on the national do not call registry and please don't call me again. He said "f**k you Son of a b***h and hung up. What a butt wipe!
Harassment calls of this nature need to be stopped.
These guys called and said I had malware. Then got me to look at my screen and at my keyboard and then press the windows key. When I asked the name of their company again he hung up. Do these guys really make any money doing this? How can they make money doing this? Its a joke.
Just got a call from this showing John Kendall on our caller ID....was as above...had a very heavy accent and got VERY confrontational with me when I told him nothing wrong with my computer and that we were on the Do Not Call list. I finallt hung up on him!
I keep getting calls from this person and as soon I say anything they hang up on me. The person has a heavy accent. This week alone I have received 4 calls. I am on the do not call list also. Years ago, I also received a call about the Microsoft crashing. I hung up on them. These people are a pain in the butt and I just wish something could be done to prevent these types of calls.
March 4, 2014; re: 347-753-9068, John Kendall
This is my 3rd phone call from this number in the past 7 days. Man with heavy East Indian accent claims he received a message regarding computer problems with my Microsoft software. I interrupted him by loudly yelling NO! TAKE MY NUMBER OUT OF YOUR RECORDS! and I hung up. What a waste of my time.
Called saying he was from Microsoft and my computer has malicious virus. His accent was so heavy, I had a hard time understanding him. After a minute or so, I hung up on him. But before I did, he said I would be doing everything myself to fix the problem, he wouldn't even have to touch the computer. Scam.
Caller with heavy accent told me that they had detected that we had downloaded a virus and that it would risk our personal information. I am a computer professional and while it is possible that we have a virus infection, it is not likely. I see no way that they could remotely detect such an event, if it did happen. My security at home is pretty good. The caller wanted me to go to a certain website, which could eventually have been a great way to become infected if they were so inclined. However, before the caller could give me the URL, he hung up, so I was unable to find out more. I guess I should have played along better instead of being so skeptical.
I tried to call the number back, but all I get is a busy signal multiple times. The name on the caller ID was John Kendall.
this man called us today indian accent so thick was almost impossible to understand, said he was from windows technical dept and that my computer was sending error messages was asked to give me a phone number that i could actually look up and verify tht he was who he said he was, first of all i do not believe microsoft calls people second of all if they did they caller id would have the companys name not some individuals anyone know how to stop this person? somehow i doubt it even if hes caught he will just change his number and name brother he better work on that accent lol
I got a call this morning from a person named James. He has heavy accent from India or Pakistan. He claimed that my computer was infected and he was from Microsoft calling people to help them fix their computers. I am retired and my son happens to be working at Microsoft tech support dept. So, I know that this is a scam trying to get people to inject malwares in their computers. Since I am retired and get bored sometimes during the day, I had so much fun to engage and waste as much of his time as possible in this call. I had him going on circles with him on the phone. I played dumb with him and asked him to help switch on my computer and did not enter the commands as instructed and instead told him that I had pressed some wrong keys; input incorrect commands, etc., and, had accidentally shut down my computer. (Of course, I didn't do anything and was not even in front of my computer). I told that my computer was very old and would take a long time to reboot. He finally got frustrated and hang up. I had him on the phone for 10+ minutes. I figure that if I could waste more time with such scammers, they would have less time to scam other people.
Calls from this phone number is a scam. Don't waste time on it. But if you get bored sometimes like me, it will make your day to play with this caller. I know they will call back soon. I will have some more fun again.
