Said he was with Federal Reserve and that my son received a grant for $5000 for independent living. He gave another number 202-684-3341 with a code to call to get his money. I called the Indian guy and he said he needed the code and I said I want you to quit calling and I started asking him questions and he hung up on me. He's been calling my son for months.
Received a call today and I was informed that I had been chosen to receive a grant in the amount of $5,419. I was told that I could use the grant for anything I wanted, but I would need to pay taxes on the money. I was told if I use the grand for education there is no taxes due. It was described as a "healthy living" grant and I was told he was with the Chief Financial Counsel from Washington, DC, however the number that phoned me was 323-522-5619 and that is a California phone number. I was given a claim ID number and told to call 202-684-2341 to claim my grant. I was told I could receive the money via direct deposit, check or cash. Very heavy Indian accent. I do believe this is a scam. I was told because I have no bankruptcies, criminal record or bad history I was selected by the government to receive the money. he wanted my zip code and age, so I lied on each. Be careful because it seems they want to gather information about you to use for their own illegal purposes or identity fraud.
