This was from Receivables Performance Management.
They called, left their name and a different number to call back and said they were a debt collecting agency. I owe no debt (made all my payments on time) and have good credit.
I looked them up, they have a terrible reputation and apparently have made several erroneous or purposely illegal attempts to collect debts from either the wrong people or debts that don't actually exist. I haven't found the best way to stop them yet. On my next day off, I will ask my bank what to do since they can apparently actually put their debt report onto MY credit score.
I found their phone# from my cell as callers' history. I called the number and someone answered my phone call and then asked my phone# and said their main office is in DC. I gave my # then she hangup the line. I researched this phone# belonged to RPM but I and family members have kept great credit scores with no debts. Why they called?????
These idiots are a collection agency who tries to collect on bogus debts. Most of the debts they say you owe arent even real. They're just looking for some poor soul to pay someone else's debt. They care not that you are not them! Cut your ringer off! NEVER, NEVER, EVER answer the phone when you don't recognize the number! I've had the same cell # for 9 yrs and the same land line for 20 yrs. I'm almost never bothered on my cell but the scammers call the land line constantly. I just cut the ringer off and I'm done with all of it.
I have been receiving several calls from this number and normally when I answer, no one is there. Will today, Feb 18, 2013 I answer with a double hi and they started to tell me they were collecting a debt and I needed to verify my address. She continued to stated I had an outstanding long distance bill from Sprint. I asked for a bill to be sent and she said they do not sent bills. I told her I NEVER pay over the phone especially when my Sprint account is current. I wanted proof. She stated she will note this on my account. I didn't hear any typing. THIS IS A SCAM!!!!
I do have a bill that I owe and I have payment arrangements, but this company calls about 5 times a day. They always ask for my husband and refuse to talk to me. I just answer and tell them they have the wrong number. "oh so sorry and they hang-up" freaking vampires.
I have received multiple phone calls from this number only ringing 1-2 times! No one leaves a name or number and I don't appreciate them calling my cell phone!! I do have a house phone they can call. I have my cell phone for emergencies NOT collection agencies calling 5times a day!!
Calls from this number at least 6 times a day, for about 4 months now. Calls from a couple other numbers also. Some say debt collectors, some say lawyers office. Usually ask for Timothy Grant. Asked once today for another name but I couldn't understand the foreigner speaking. I have shouted at these people, threatended to report them, and they just attempt to talk over me. SCAM!
How do we get this company to stop calling? If this is a collection agency, I don't owe anybody any back debt and they have no business calling me. I answer and wait while they keep me on hold so that I can tell them to stop calling and never even get the chance, It just disconnects. The Idiots must not even know how to use their own phone system.
File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission to help investigate and prosecute the unscruplous ( scum of the earth ) collectors, as harassment by repeated telephone calls is breaking fedral laws, go to the website: www.ftc.gov or call 1-877-382-4357, do not let them control your life.
I had Sprint bill with RPM. I paid it of directly to Sprint and reported that to RPM. Nonetheless they still call me but now instead of having an agent answer they only play music to me on the phone. At this point this is a harassment.
I emailed them and they haven't called since. If they call again I will call them back to tell them to stop.
