Somebody from W N Positions said that while I was on line, I indicated that I wanted them to call. I NEVER made any such indication. I called to see if they may have gotten my number confused with someone elses, and they were quick to get off the phone. This seemed fishy to me.
I'm in Greenville, NC, and I received a call from this number at 10:39 this morning (Jan. 16th, 2013). The man said he was with "WN Positions" and he was calling because I had "recently filled out an online survey." I said I did not do so and asked about the company, and he said it was an employment matching service and he had a few questions for me to match me with jobs as part of a free service. I said I was not interested and hung up. I know I didn't fill out any such survey, and if I had, I would not have given my personal cell number. And my number is on the National Do Not Call List. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.
Called me 1/17/13 at 11:45 am stating he was responding to an on-line employment survey I had taken. I knew I had not taken such a survey but agreed to answer a few questions. Third question in he asked me for my date of birth. I told him I was not going to answer the question. Gave me some B.S. about how all information was kept confidential however I repeated I would not answer any question requiring any personal information. He said, "OK" and hung up. I promptly googled the phone number and found (what my gut feeling was telling me) the call was an attempt to elicit personal information.
Just received this call on my cell phone... the guy said he was responding to a Wal-Mart survey that I filled out online in request for information about employment. I promptly told this guy that he was mistaken that I would never fill out such a survey, nor did I need employement. He was very pushy and I pushed back and then hung up on the jerk. I will definitely be reporting this to the FTC. DO NOT GIVE THIS CALLER ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION!!!
Got Phone card this afternoon. Didnt understand name. Was about a survey. Was I interested ? Asked for info. Thought was about job. Lady came on phone. Then hung up. Neighbor called and was hung up on. They called back. "Joseph" answered. Told them wanted info deleted. Was hung up on. Before calling them, they were found to have complaints against them. My question is How did they get my cell phone # ? Then heard about some more ppl they had called. They should not b able to get phone numbers like that.
Someone from W N Positions (347-688-9985) called me and said that I had indicated on an online survey, I wanted job. I never made any such indication. Initially they sounded like a head-hunter, but then it turned out to be a coordinator for educational opportunity in my area. I moved on, but then it said they could only pay for further education if I had a GED from USA. Although I don't have a GED from US, I have a Bachelors+Masters from the US. So, I was disqualified for any potential opportunity that they would provide. Isn't that weird?
W N positions also uses the number 253-880-1090. When I called back someone named Joseph said he got my number from an online survey seeking employment. I told him I had not filled out a survey and asked him if he was affiliated with a university that I did apply to online. He said no then said sorry I couldn't help you today. Stupid and weird.
Said I filled out a survey requesting info on employment opportunities. Wouldn't answer any of my questions, and there was always a delay after what I said before he would speak. Told the guy I didn't fill out a survey and had a solid job. He said thanks and hung up.
Call from this number at 11:55AM today on my cell, same scam about a survey as mentioned in previous comments. Caller's voice sounded garbled, but understandable.
Asked if he had the wrong number because I had not filled out any surveys, obviously, and he in turn asked me for my profile information. I repeated that I had never filled anything out, and also queried as to whether or not I was talking to an actual person or just a recording. Said sorry I couldn't help you today instead of answering my question and hung up.
Please have this number's caller arrested for public harassment with all due haste.
*I also bothered to look through my phone records. This same number called me at 6:18 PM, January 16th. A woman answered after I answered "hello" several times with no initial response. She sounded very faint, and possibly a latino accent, but don't quote me on that. She asked me who was on the other end, I stated my name, then she hung up without a word. I assumed it was the usual case of a wrong number and didn't give it a second thought... until now.
