I live in Canada. I got a call from someone telling me that they could help me to lower my interest rates on my Visa. I asked him about who he was, what bank he was calling from and then where the company was located. He gave me a number that turns out to be in Pakistan and when I kept talking to him about how this was all a scam, he started telling me to F-off and then started calling me names and then told me that if he gave me info on his company that I should perform *** acts on him. Every time I told him that I was putting him on hold he asked if I was getting my husband. He threatened to call me all hours of the day and night. I blocked the number.
Of course, the caller-ID information was supplied (falsely) by the caller, i.e., not supplied by any telephone-company. So, one cannot call them back. i wasnt home when they called , i always check numbers on google that i dont know, and i get atleast 10 to 20 calls a weeks from scams.when is this backward *** goverment going to do something about this **** . but ive learnt over the years you cant count on them to do anything right in canada, but when we have a legal gang enforcing the law (r.c.m.p ) it does not set a good example to the young people who will one day be running this country someday
I just received a call from 250-372-8103, there was a recording said this is a second & final call on how to reduce credit card debts... I had already registered my number on the National Do Not Call List, and yet, I still receive calls from telemarketers. Everyday I get two to four phone calls with no answer on the other end...

I have had lots of message left by this number on my Voicemail. today, i was home when they called, so I answered, hoping to get removed from their calling list. After listening to the recorded message and then pressing 1, someone live answered the phone and said "hello, how are you today." I responded "please remove my number from your calling list". He said " I said how are you today". I said "please remove my number from your list". He said "I didn't try to sell you anything, all I said was how are you today". I asked to speak to his manager. He was then silent for several seconds so I again asked to speak to his manager. Then he called me a b&$ch, and he hung up!
recording about credit card debt - won't stop. What is the Do Not Call List for anyway - it definitely doesn't work. We should be able to block calls, but then the phone companies would lose money. Then the gov't couldn't collect the tax, and on it goes!
I also got a call from this number (and a 250-453-2289) same deal. Press 1 to blah blah. This is my report to the CRTC. Let's see if anything is done about it: This is the second type of call within this month I've received ("press 1 for more information on how to lower your Visa or MC interest rate" "second and final" etc). I again pressed 1 to speak to an agent, asked him for the company name. He then gave me "Mango Juice Producers" and I asked how does that relate to lowering credit card debt? He started on a spiel, I interrupted and said I don't have a credit card, I'm on the DNC list, and I'll be reporting this company to the CRTC. He then went on to say "honey, honey, how old are you??". I replied, my age is none of his business (I'm 33 btw) and I'll also be including the fact that he was calling me "honey" in the report. He then went on to call me derogatory names (ie: "F#$K you sweetheart" repeatedly) to which I replied "keep it classy" and hung up. Something MUST be done to stop these calls and these ignorant individuals from calling. No one deserves to be called up at their residence and be called names and be treated like this.
