Caller I.D. said "202-234-3930,PDR2", young woman wanted to talk about supporting Sierra Club, and after some conversation the DSCC also. Generally, they must be asking for donations for non-profits, I have stopped donating over the phone, no problem!
PDR2 shows on caller id. Caller calls every day at different times of day never responds if phone is answered, never leaves message on voice mail, usually hangs up before voice mail activates but not always. Caller has been calling for months, sometimes as early as 7:00 am and as late as 9:00 pm this includes Sundays. Is there a way to identify the account holder for this landline based number?
What has become scary about these calls is they can hide behind the likes of the PDR2 title and I have noticed the attacks on my computer have picked up. I have had my debit card and credit card ID stolen. Other account attempts at penetrating to charge merchandise have been brought to my attention also. So beware the Trojans aren't just a *** toy.
Hi - here's a try I emailed Massachusett's AG office and actually got a phone call reply. They said that if the company is political or Sierra Club (??), it's not illegal. But they said the'd look into it and report it to some other government office (?). The company is SHARE inc. in Newton, Mass. I also called the 202 number from a land line and left a message asking how to get off list. I actually got a voice mail back saying to call back with the # I wanted off the list. I did (called from the land line). I'm keeping my fingers crossed but haven't gotten a call on my cell for a WEEK! I also wrote ot our (NY) AG's office. One other suggestion that takes two seconds - I wrote to ACLU & Sierra Club and wrote that if they ever want another donation they need to get their robo callers to stop calling daily.
always report them them to ag and to ftc. if they call multiple times, i call the state police and file a report for harassment. even better, since they call me on my cell, and I never give that our to any charity so they are dialing the number randomly, i just block it on google voice. bye bye morons.
